This month saw the release of Octopus 4.0, the latest version of the popular property maintenance and compliance platform built by DesignKarma.

Improved UX

The new version builds on feedback from the 200+ clients who use the platform to manage their properties every day; making it easier to use and adding some new features.

New Quote Section

A new feature is the ability for engineers to quote on remedial jobs, new installations etc... and for clients to review and accept or decline these quotes. Engineers can add detailed line items, along with their own individual item markup percentages.

Performance Enhancements

Along with the UI/UX overhaul, DesignKarma made a number of changes under the hood including installing the excellent AsyncQueue plugin to free up some memory and speed up the site. We also upgraded the Octopus server, quadrupling the CPU.

Look out for more updates as Octopus grows in popularity throughout 2022 and beyond!
