Octopus
Branding, web design, Craft CMS, custom plugin, hosting and maintenance.
Several years ago DesignKarma was asked to develop on online platform for property owners, landlords and facilities managers; to keep track of compliance and maintenance. A couple of months later, and Octopus was live.
DesignKarma developed the brand identity, as well the initial launch website. Since then, DesignKarma has continued to develop and evolve Octopus into a business-critical platform used daily by hundreds of clients, managers and engineers.
Octopus is powered by the excellent Craft CMS. Users login to check on and update Health & Safety Compliance, Fire Risk Assessments, Emergency Lighting and other compliance on their properties. They can also manage maintenance with Jobs and Logbooks, and even submit and audit Jobsheets.
Custom Craft Plugin Development
Along with some complex reporting and analytics, DesignKarma also developed a custom plugin called "Sandbird" that adds three productivity features:
- Share – send a page/entry link to selected users with a short message.
- PDF – render entry content to a branded PDF via a Twig template.
- Email Digest – scheduled digests of new, updated and expiring entries related to the user's account.
DesignKarma hosts and maintains Octopus, including regular Craft and plugin updates, as well as continuing to develop new features.
